A little slow to begin with, and teasingly lacking that crescendo of neat little stories all being wrapped up together at the end, this is a beautifully written, fascinating study of women and their relationships with themselves and each other - especially their mothers. I really enjoyed this book, I thik i'll be mulling it over for some time.
