I haven't read this book but anything by Miles is usually interesting. He's a great writer on the 60's - and was part of the counter-culture, avant, Beatles friend scene. Also right now I am not that far off from the original Beat hotel - which of course is a very expensive hotel to stay at. Nevertheless it's amazing the work the original Beats have done in Paris. Basically they were in tuned with people like Celine and Genet. No word on their relationshipw with people like Sartre or even Boris Vian. They may have shared the same world, but alas they were travelers in each other's world.
