I'm beginning to finally understand why I love certain books.

Bourdain's writing voice is crystal clear--it's rare to find a book in which the author's voice truly gets into the head of the reader, as if he or she is holding a conversation, rather than writing down what sounds good.

Kitchen Confidential was fantastic. It was raunchy, hilarious, evocative, and above all, honest.
