The book scorpions is about a boy named Jamal who faces alot of challenges in his life. One of the challenges is that this boy always wants to fight him, and Jamal never wants to fight him because he is not that kind of kid. Another challenge he faces is that he thinks his mom works to hard. He doesnt want her to work that hard but she says she has to if she wants to get her brother out of jail. The last challenge he faces is a big one. He has trouble with this gang called the scorpions. They always beat him up and he always comes home hurt. I have a text to world connection for this book. This book remindes me of the real world. I say this because kids always have hard lifes if they grow up in a very bad neiborhood and that is what is happening in this book. I would recomend this book to anyone who likes drama. I rated this book 4 stars because i thought it was a good book and had alot of drama in it and sometimes I like books with drama in them.
