I kept having to remind myself that Saint Augustine wrote this in the 1400's because his idea of God is so much of how we view him now not how they did as children of the dark ages. I felt like I was listening to an intimate prayer of someone else. It is beautiful and poetic and tragic at the same time. Everyone who believes in God should read this.
