This is a cupcake made from a boxed mix: it's light and fluffy and sweet, and tastes so delicious when you're eating it that it's not until you swallow the last bite that you realize how little substance it had.

But John Green's in it, so maybe I'll consider his part of this a homemade frosting?

(This is called "stretching a metaphor way too far.")

Brynn Lautenbacher I love your metaphor. It perfectly fits the situation. The story was cute and easy to read, but it left me wanting an actual story. I kept wanting more substance. I wanted a homemade cupcake, not a boxed version.
