This is an odd, odd book - super short but packed with atmospheric menace and dread. I know a lot of others felt that it didn't "add up" to enough, but for me, that was beside the point. Leigh creates an incredibly rich and terrible world in these tiny snippets of prose, and you emerge from the fog as if you've been reading a much longer, denser novel. I wish it was another 10-15 pages longer, as I think the ending needed more "rounding out" for me to be fully satisfying, but I don't know of many other authors out there who can do so much with so little.
