really liked it
Read from January 27 to 30, 2010

I liked this book, though I probably would have given it 3 1/2 stars. (but good reads doesn't let us use 1/2 stars....)
Unlike most people, I didn't love it, I didn't hate it...
One thing that bugged me throughout the book was that America was burned, but yet houses were still standing? There were still trees standing? If areas were a foot deep in ash, you'd think everything would be gone!
I did like the way the book was written, I liked that it was a fast read... Though from the beginning I couldn't fathom any way the book wouldn't have a sad ending. I was pleasantly surprised how the last scene played out.... I can see this being something that kids get forced to read in English literature classes....
