I'll be adding this book to my literature circle sets for sure! Why? First, the storyline is absolutely intriguing and the author only answers as many questions as she must. The suspence drew me right through the book. Second, the writing style is simple enough that most middle schoolers would grasp it, making it a great entryway into Dickens.

As written for 9-12 year-olds I'd give this five stars, but as an adult, I would have appreciated a little more sophistication in the sentence structure and vocabulary. I expect that there will be more to come from this author!
