Like the author, although I had heard of Down Syndrome before, I never really gave it a thought about the kind of toll it takes on the parents. To me personally, this book has kind of "prepared" me in some ways to embrace the situation laid in the book in a more subtle way. More than diverting anger towards David, I thought the weakest character was Norah. I feel things would have been ten fold times better had Norah been more like Caroline. I don't blame David for not being able to confide the secret to Norah because I think she would have either left him or made it hell for him to live with her. I liked reading about Paul the most and wished Kim would have given us more light on his life.
