it was amazing

E. A. Poe was a perfectionist. He reworked his poetry all the time, adding words, changing others, trying to find delight in the macabre. He used to read the poems aloud, at night, on the light of a single candle.
Poe's poetry is very pleasurable - the finest gothic melody I have ever heard. Someone recommended Alan Parsons's music to accompany the poems. Indeed, Parsons has a melody called "The Raven".
