Nikolski is one of the quirkier books I've read as of late, especially with the multiple narratives. Usually I end up being disappointed with different viewpoints thrown in the mix, but this novel was very cleverly woven. The little details that connect the characters are worth looking out for, and the stories feel intimate. It centers around: Noah, Joyce, and our narrator, with their own journeys, although they each at some point, find themselves in 90's Montreal (Quebec, Canada). You get a very real sense of adventure with each one of them, the details invoke the grittiness of the sea and everything that evolves from there. This novel is impossible to summarise and categorize, but it is very worth picking up.
