Elizabeth Gilbert speaks to me. In Eat Pray Love , she was going through many of the same thought processes as I was at the time, having been recently divorced (although her thoughts took place in much more exotic locales!). Now, in the follow-up memoir, she smacks me upside the head with thought-provoking research and conclusions on the same issues I've been struggling with lately - marriage and kids. If you're not going through these issues yourself, I can see how this book could fall flat for you. But for me, it was somewhat of a revalation. And I love Gilbert's writing style - incredibly engaging, it feels like you're conversering with an old friend.
