The first bit was good, and then it became literary commentary on different books! That's not what I wanted. I wanted commentary on what it was like to be a female scholar in Tehran, and that part went away and I lost interest.

Nophoto-f-25x33 Hey Missy!

Ha! I'm currently reading that book too! I'm on page like 270. I've been reading for a long time because I only have a chance to get to it during my lunch breaks at work. You think it's slow? I really like it! It gets intense at times, and sad. I feel like I'm learning a lot though. I sometimes read with a pencil in my hand - I'm such a lit nerd!

Hope it gets better for you!

176222 I think it's slow when the author describes herself. Really, what I mean by "slow" is that she jumps around and is hard to follow. When she is analyzing Lolita she is better and follow's the book's chronological or thematic progression, so I find that the order of the writing makes sense then.
