I have always loved Eleanor - this is a great biography. Her grandmother was names Dangerreuse, what a great name! Her grandfather was a piece of work... makes me want to go and visit their palace which is still used for the ministry of justice, apparently...

Kathryn Dody, when I was in high school, my next-door neighbor (James Thurber's daughter, believe it or not!) played Eleanor in a community theater production of Lion in Winter. She did a marvelous job, as did Kate Hepburn, of course, but it would be great to meet the real lady!
