Here are some of the characters that have been members or been associated with this shadowy group:

Current Family leader Doug Coe, Bill Bright founder of Campus Crusade, the founder of World Vision, born again Nixon crook Chuck Colson, numerous speakers at the Family's one public event the National Prayer Breakfast like Billy Graham and Conrad Hilton, Pat Robertson's dad Sen. Absalom Robertson, Sen. Mark Hatfield, Sen. Strom Thurmond, current Republican Senators Richard Lugar, Sam Brownback, Jim Demint, Chuck Grassley, James Inhofe, Tom Coburn, John Thune, Mike Enzi, President Gerald Ford, Democratic Senators Hillary Clinton, Bill Nelson, and Mark Pryor not to mention adulterer's Sen. John Ensign and Gov. Mark Sanford.

What's most scary about their ideology is that The Family/Fellowship care nothing for the ethics of Christianity, only about spreading the influence of Jesus through the highest positions of power. Their is only mercy and forgiveness for the powerful - they assume all else will trickle down. So not only can they give forgiveness and political cover to adulterous members, but also to some of the 20th century’s most brutal dictators: Papa Doc Duvalier of Haiti, Nazi sympathizers,
Suharto of Indonesia, Somali dictator Siad Barre, etc.

As a Seattleite it's also interesting to note that Jeff Sharlet gives the history of the Fellowship which starts in Seattle. They basically owned Seattle's mayor back in the 1930's and worked to break the power of labor in the Northwest.
