Anasuya's review
My Life in France by Julia Child
I just never wanted this book to end. I had no idea that Julia Child's obsession with French cooking came "later" in life at around age 36 and how much went in to writing Mastering the Art. Which I have now sworn to buy and if I can work up the courage to cook from! There is so much to love about this, her last, book--about expatriate life, about culinary obsession and a beautiful relationship between Paul and Julia Child. Not to mention the obstacles she and her co-authors faced getting Mastering the Art published! Delightful and warm. A must-read.
I also just read & loved the book - and it made me so envious of anyone who happens to be living the expat life!
I just read Julie and Julia--the woman who cooked all of Mastering the Art in a year and blogged about it and I just wanted to smack her. She has these "imaginings" she writes from the perspective of Paul Child....grrr.And expat life is fantastic--it's just that sometimes you want to go to Target!
