There was a brief period in my life when I went to church, and praticed Christianity. However, I discovered that this faith created more questions then answers in my life. Such as, what is the cultural signifigance of Eve being the personification of man's fall? Why is God masculine? If the Bible encourages Christians to "walk in love" why are they often so unaccecpting of gays and women's rights :( their pariticipating in the clergy, abortion, and the female recognition of divinity)?
So I was pleasently suprised when I came across this book. It took Sue Monk Kidd almost half her life to ask some of these difficult questions, and she had alot more at stake then most of us. For one, she was an instermental part of her Baptist church, her husband was a minister, and she was globally known as a Christian writer.
