I now understand why everyone hates this book. I'm not the biggest fan of it myself. It was completely not what I expected. I thought it would be more like a Janette Oke or Debbie Macomber but maybe with a little edge. Truth is this book is so dirty it would have to crawl out of the gutter to find the edge. And I don't mean it's dirty, like "oh no there's sex in it!" There is, but I've read more erotic books elsewhere that bothered me less.

No, it's the people in the book that are just horrible all the way around - lazy, direputable, whiny, entitled, whorey - you get the idea. I hope that if I'm ever an author I NEVER sit down to right a book as nonredeeming as this one.

I thought maybe people were just over generalizing, but nope, you guys were right.

And I should have listened.
