Oh no! The librarians are grumpy!

This book has stereotypical nerds and bullies -- Pleh!
It is cute, but sad. I met Krosoczka at a museum event, and he was a great guy. But this book contains an outdated view of librarianship that unnecessarily reinforces negativity. Cool public and school libraries have Wii and games and other fun stuff and we don't snipe at the kids! The storytelling is facile and offers nothing new. How I wish Dav Pilkey or Daniel Pinkwater had tackled this instead. It would have been funnier!

But the lunch lady crime fighting tools are very cool.
