Definitely not what I expected having been lured in by the Kenny Branagh, but in a good way.

The book Wallander is less sure of his clues than the Branagh Wallander, his colleagues are completely different, and whilst clearly suffering some mental issues (he's mental), he's closer to Morse with his love of opera and classical music, than Kenny's Wallander, who has a touch of the Frank Gallaghers about him.

Even having seen this one in the current season of the TV show, it still managed to surprise, which is probably a good thing.
