Admiral Robert E. Peary was very lucky to have such a devoted daughter. She had incredible experiences, although I can't imagine being that devoted to a man who was more devoted to his "discovery."

Here's an excerpt from p. 5:

Despite this failure, Peary did make a shorter, more successful trip that summer. Inuit near the Cape York region took Peary to see three giant meteorites. Peary carved the initial "P" on one of them He hoped to return later to claim all three.
