London Walking: A Handbook for Survival by Simon Pope
i am about to spend a month in London - and i loathe the 'tube,' so I will pretty much be above street - and do a lot of walking. Which to me is a way to know the city. I actually think building structures, road lengths, shops, and eating places are more interesting than its citizens. And I am talking about all cities. I am totally into the design of a city and how it functions.
This book is tailor made for me. It deals with walking in a very creative manner. And it's small and easily can be fitted in the palm of your hand. By no means is it a map, but more of an aesthetic guide while walking in London.
