Nineteens minutes doesn't sound like a long time, but it can change your life. Nineteen Minutes is the story of a school shooting, the events that lead to it, and the aftermath. No doubt Jodi Picoult will go down as one of the greatest writers of our time. She once again takes on a difficult, but relevant topic and looks at it from every angle. Peter Houghton is a teenager who has been bullied since the first day of kindergarten and finally decides to take his revenge. Picoult manages to make him sympathetic while still acknowledging the horror of what he did. In addition to Houghton, we see how this horrific event affects everyone around him. The book is an emotional roller coaster that has the reader looking for truth right to the end.
