The the perfect Zen, existential Western. An illumination of the absurdity of life as shown by ones man's recalitrant love and another's undying friendship.

McCarthy is able to bring to life a range and depth of emotion through his characters that will make you laugh at one moment and cry the next. Without a doubt the best McCarthy I have read thus far.

Daryl I would say the most 'approachable' McCarthy so far--and I really like it. Yet, "Blood Meridian" stands apart, for me, and remains his magnum opus to date.
