really liked it
bookshelves: young-adult
Read in December, 2009

Good series so far. If you liked Westerfeld's Ugly series then you will most likely like this one he has written as well. Not that they are similar plot wise--but his writing style is a lot the same. The main characters are between 15-17 years of age just as his Ugly series as well. The second book finds the 5 Midnighter Teenagers two weeks after the first book ended. They are learning to work together but find that can be difficult with differing personalities, talents, and agendas. When two of them discover a darkling secret that could destroy everything they know including themselves, they must learn to work together to stop it.

Not too long, good action, great interaction between characters--you definitely feel invested in the book. I liked it a lot and would most likely read it again someday. I wouldn't call it a young adult classic, but I didn't want to put it down and there are some great conflicts and resolutions leaving you waiting for book #3.
