I'm a bit partial to this, having studied the heck out of it for my thesis. It's truly for both kids and adults, and reading it as a grown-up, you'll catch all kinds of interesting things in the language that you weren't sophisticated enough to articulate when you were a kid (but you probably sensed they were there - I know that there always seemed to be a faint air of menace when I read either of these stories, and there are all kinds of so-called "death jokes" and puns buried in the text). Both tales are "crazy" in their own ways, yet make a weird kind of sense. Yes, I could rant all day about Carroll, so I'll leave off now...
