I started reading the most recent E. Cole novels and am going back to read the earlier ones. I wish, now, that I'd started from the beginning. While this book was good, you could see and feel some of the missing life lessons that E. Cole receives later in his career. And this book has a lot less Joe Pike. I like Joe. So I missed him in this book. Don't get me wrong, this is still a pretty solid Elvis book and worth the read if you've liked any of the other ones. I just wish I had started from the beginning to see Elvis (and Crais) grow.
