really liked it

One of the greatest head-scratchers you may ever read. Mair's translation was new in the early '90s, and may have been improved since then, although I'm no expert. The Tao Te Ching is obscure, it poetic, it is . . . itself. I still like to puzzle around in it. It is no longer a book I would read cover-to-cover, although there may be something to immersion. I write a really good paper on it in college. These days, I find it work well as a meditation guide. Pick a page; ponder. Good luck.
