Flowers for Algernon is a novel about a 32 year old mentally challenge male named Charlie, that is selected to undergo an experiment that would enhance his IQ. But the experiment is first tested on a lab rat, Algernon, who is slowly starting to desenegrate from it. After his chance to go through the experiment, Charlie was able to have a high IQ and experience love with Alice, his tutor. But soon all that starts to wither away as Charlie's brain starts to function as it did previously.
