Michel Faber does a really good job at characterization, and the three novelettes that make up "The Courage Consort" reinforce this point. The last of the three "The Fahrenheit Twins" reminded me a great deal of his novel "Under the Skin" in tone. Highly recommended for fans of his previous work.
