The stories of three women - the lives of whom only touch tagentially (if at all - its not certain) but with themes that in different variations are played through, taking place in Senegal and France. The second one, Rudy and Fantas, I found a bit interminable, but the third, Khady Demba's story, really moving and insightful, which made the book well worth reading.
