Another series I once liked where the author doesn't seem to be able to come up with anything much to interest me any longer. It's adequate, another murder mystery. The only new note is one of professional protectionism and emphasis on professional accreditation. Is the popularity of the books/tv series causing inadequately-prepared jobseekers to flood the market? Sounds like. But it's not especially compelling when presented in such a didactic and slapped-in manner.
