it was amazing
bookshelves: grace-p, historical-fiction
Read in August, 2007

I felt like I was time-traveling back to 1600s Netherlands and feeling the scariness of being poor and an outsider living and working in a wealthier family's home as a maid. Has a good ending when a butcher's apprentice with a stable job falls in love with the main character and marries her, but she almost pushes him away first.
