Betty's review
The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls
I really enjoyed this book; I think what was interesting was how little some people can live with (by choice for the Mother and Father). I have the feeling that the author was pretty 'easy' on her parents in telling her story. I'm sure there was a lot more misery than she let on. But all in all it was a good, fast read. And it was fun to google the author...there are some interesting video interviews with her. Others in my book club thought the parents (the mother especially) were horrible, irresponsible people. I think they maybe were somewhat, but that mostly they just marched to a different drummer, and I don't think that took away from the story.
