Mike McQuillian Interesting and all, but it's evolutionary biology that seems kinda obvious now.

Johnida Being a biologist myself, it is a fairly obvious process to me as well. However, the beauty of the divergent evolution that has occured in Darwin's finches is amazing, and Weiner did a great job of describing it. I wonder what it would be like for an evolution newbie to stumble across this book and discover the process entirely anew.

That said, I sort of wish this book was required reading for those folks who think the theory of evolution is still up for debate.

Mike McQuillian I can get behind that. To someone that doesn't believe in evolution, it could be a revelation.
