Like a wonderful combination of Fight Club's nihilism, Armageddon's impending doom, Franzen's dysfunctional family, and Evison's coming of age angle, I can safely say I haven't read anything like Everything Matters before.

The story structure built around showcasing different POVs each chapter and an ongoing ominous omniscient narration counting down in between makes for an entertaining and almost cinematic experience for the reader as it makes you care about each character as well as question your own life's journey and set of priorities.

The writing is fantastic, grounded in reality, and really funny at times. If you've liked anything else Ron has done, you'll love this. If you like a good tight original story that borders on humor, tragedy, and sci-fi what ifs, you'll love this. I loved this.
