Recommended for: people who aren't white...sense the write seems to be a bit of a racist
Read in January, 2010 — I own a copy, read count: 1

Didn't really care for this book...probably because I'm white and I REALLY don't appreciate anyone grouping everyone in any race together and basically insinuating that they are all morons or whatever...that being said...the story itself wasn't bad, and based on that fact alone is why I gave it four stars. It was interesting to get a glimpse into some of the prejudice that occurs in one race against members of their own race (did that sentence make any sense?)

One thing that I really didn't understand/like about this book either was the same thing that I didn't like about the movie Gran Torino...I have friends of all kinds of different backgrounds. My hispanic friends don't go around making references to them being hispanic all the time, my gay friends don't go around making references to that either, my friends that are black don't go around constantly making references to the fact that they are just seemed in this book that so much of it was based on race...I just didn't feel that it rang true to real least nothing like my life I guess I should say. I just thought it was wierd....these are all just MHO, so if you don't like...I really couldn't care less...have a nice day :D
