"You know when kids play act their terrible, horrible, no good anger or icky sexual frustration by knocking two dolls together?*"

Well, "One Hundred Demons," one of my top 5 ever, is like what would happen if you knocked "The Greatest of Marlys" together with "What It Is." They would procreate and produce one of my favorite books of all time. "Marlys" is super groovy, "What It Is" is super arty. I gotta say, though it kills me**, that this book was a little bit too arty and serious for me to truly engage in it. I think this book will be 5-star worthy to people who are smarter and more grown-up than me.

*I stole this from a goodreader without asking permission. Will cite sources, later.

**It kind of kills me because I've been waiting for this book for forEVer!

537046 Barry is a genius, twisted pretzle tight in the best way. `Dirty' is the coolest YA ever written, with its drug abuse, serial murders and schlep rock of a main character. This book looks equally cool...

537046 Meant to say `Crummy'. Too many drugs and serial killings.
