This is one of my favorite Young Adult books, following the story of Wise Child, a young girl in a poor village in Wales. She goes to live with the village <i>cailleach,<i> basically the weird single herbalist woman of the town, and discovers the truth about human nature, sin, beauty, love, and her own history.
