The Tale of the Vampire Bride tells the story of Lady Glynis Wright. Her parents are dragging her and her sister all over Europe to meet the men they wish for them to wed. Glynis' not interested in marriage and she is very outspoken about that fact.

Her and her family finally arrive at the home of Dracula. He takes her as his 4th bride, but Glynis refuses to break and be what he expects of her. She suffers greatly during her time with Dracula and his three other wives, her vampire sisters.

The story is horror-filled for the reader and it's heroine. The things she must endure under the hands of Dracula and her sisters are disgusting, terrifying and heart breaking, but somehow she stays strong throughout.

The book was not an easy read, but Rhiannon has a way of writing that brings the readers into her character's world. I'm not a fan of the historical, but must read whatever this author writes. This story will grip you, maybe not from the start, but certainly very soon into it, and will not let go until the end. It's certainly not predictable, even though you may think you know the story of Dracula. Rhiannon definitely makes the story her own and has created a strong, yet vulnerable character that you will root for from beginning to end.

Rhiannon Frater continues to be one of my favorite authors. I will continue to read whatever she writes.
