I read this in preparation for an upcoming trip to Central America. It provides all sorts of interesting background on the Indians of Guatemala - their customs, traditions, rituals, and mistreatment. Since it was written in 1983, it does make me wonder if their life has improved any as the conditions under which they were living at the time it was written were deplorable.
