Jack Plank was not very good at being a pirate, so he decides go ashore in the islands where he hopes to find a new way of life. As he hunts for a job, he tells story after story about life among the pirates--including a Russian pirate who ends up with a crab AND a guinea pig living in his beard. I guarantee that kids who like a good pirate tale will love this book. A good choice for grades 3 and up (and a good read aloud for younger kids).
