Read from November 25 to December 04, 2011

I love it when a writer ties together all loose ends, and Dan Chaon definitely does that. There are several stories and timelines that blur together but there's a satisfying clarity at the end. Lucy and her high school history teacher are on the lam, Ryan's father is driving him to the hospital in hopes that his severed hand can be reattached, Miles and Hayden are troubled twins, the former in search of the latter. Miles lives a sad bloated life alone in Ohio where they lived as boys, Hayden lives the lives of many as a con man and identity thief. I liked this book as a whole... but not so much the individual stories before they come together so beautifully at the end. It was kind of like I got through the beginning and middle of the book in order to enjoy the ending.
