Read in December, 2009

Written in first person present tense it very quickly takes you into Thomas Cromwell's mind where you stay throughout the book. The writing is gorgeous, especially the pen portraits of Wolsey, Norfolk and Thomas More - in fact Hilary Mantel brings everyone she touches to life in a way that makes me glow in pleasure and envy
