Not one of my favorite Spensers. It's one of those with a downer ending. Convoluted goings on, but the book never sparkled like some of Parker's seem to do.

Susan seemed to be there primarily to point out her Harvard education. Hawk actually gave an emotionally supportive speech at one point, which seemed out of character. Spenser, true to form, kept on after everyone told him to stop. I seemed as if he shouldn't have, really.

Not the first Spenser I'd recommend, honestly.
