Boneshaker is set in an alternate Seattle in the 1880's. There's a little history (though distorted), zombies, adventure and gizmos galore. It was a good read and I will be reading more of Cherie Priest's work.

At times, I found it to be slow. I also found the little mystery to be easy to predict. There's no secret that Briar was hiding something about her husband and it's not hard to guess what it was. Instead of wondering about what her secret was I found myself wondering when she would share it.

I read that this is the first in a trilogy so it will be interesting to see where Priest goes with this from here.

Jan I really enjoyed Four and Twenty Blackbirds. It's southern gothic horror, which works really well with her writing style.

Shanon Thanks Jan. I was trying to decide which book of hers to read next. I was thinking Fathom just because it is a more recent release but I think I'll pick up Four & Twenty Blackbirds instead.
