Another book from Egan (author of "The Worst Hard Time" about the Dust Bowl) that "brings history alive". The part in the title about the fire "that saved america" is somewhat of an exaggeration, but I really enjoyed learning more about Roosevelt and Pinchot and the early growth of the forest service and the environmental movement in the U.S. in the early 1900s.
