Kaylee's review
Slightly Single (Red Dress Ink paperback} by Wendy Markham
I've had this hiding in my closet for awhile so I finally read it -- classic format: young, neurotic 20-something woman living in Manhattan (it's either there or LA!) who is completely invested in her boyfriend (and of course, this is not mutual). The writing started out fairly strong and I was enjoying it, but it really petered out towards the end. The main character vows to transform herself during the summer while her boyfriend is away at summer stock, and very nearly does. Unfortunately I don't have the second book to see if she learns to be happy with herself. The ending was terribly abrupt. While a little too predictable, the story still managed to engage me for a rainy afternoon.
