White Tiger is like a smashed up Slumdog Millionaire and Invisible Man.

Balram Halwai knows the truth about Bangalore. He decides he will answer the Premier of China’s request to learn how to make a few Chinese entrepreneurs. While India may have “no drinking water, electricity, sewage system, public transportation, sense of hygiene, discipline, courtesy, or punctuality,” they do have entrepreneurs; entrepreneurs in technology especially. And these Indian entrepreneurs have set up outsourcing companies that virtually run America. But to get from the slum to the other side of the “shit line”, those who were not born into the pampered class have to break some rules. The road to success is not a pretty one and is not one for the faint of heart or the slow to act.

Captivating, funny, disturbing and brilliant.
